@u2CURE78 Also, having been involved with Michael Hutchence of INXS from the the age of 15, Hutch knew of his long time friend Nastassja Kinski having a role in Wim Wender's (Wings of Desire) '84 film Paris, Texas. Hutch's mother knew Kinski's father after having worked on a film together. Friends of Hutch also appeared in the film Wings of Desire, Aussie Nick Cave. Getting back to the point, the movie was preplanned in advance of City of Angels as was the music video for Turn It Up.

@Boddahism The connection here is that my great great grandfather Ludwig's family was Bohemian/Czech Republic. The movie Wings of Desire was supposedly partially based on poetry from the Bohemian poet Rainer Maria Rilke. Wenders claimed angels seemed to dwell in Rilke's poetry. Again, I wrote the song Angels before Wings of Desire came out. Yes, I had the right connections (Bob Geldof who played Pink in The Wall and Mutt Lange) for Alan Parsons to perform my song Turn It Up.

@u2CURE78 Wings of Desire was released in 1987 and after I wrote the song Angel which is performed by Sarah McLachlan. It is not uncommon for the artists (Tom Cruise, Michael Jackson, etc.) and movie producers (Spielberg, Michael Mann, etc.) that I worked with to have a book or even movie written to say that it was based on. This was the case with "The Firm" based on an article about the southern attorneys Mapother & Mapother which had a case in 1983 in the news. I also wrote song Turn It Up!

@Boddahism , "City of Angels" was not inspired by this video. It was inspired by a masterpiece of cinema called "Der Himmel über Berlin" (or "Wings of Desire", if you will), directed by Wim Wenders. City of Angels is a poor and cheap hollywood remake that should've never been made of Wim Wenders' masterpiece. I think if you ever see Wings of Desire, you'll see what I'm talking about. =)
This is per definition NOT a song by "Alan Parsons Project", as mentioned.
This song is by "Alan Parsons band".
One of the differences is that co-founder_of_ Alan_ Parsons_ Project/song_ writer Eric_ Woolfson isn't present on this song/record.
