@lgbtTV3 I disagree on what you say about rolex watching and such, I own 2 breitling watches one worth just under 3k brand new, watches are a gentlemens luxury but a postal stamp? it is just a piece of paper.. or wine? it is just a consumable, I would not mind paying 100bux for a decent bottle of wine, but 20k?

@krabadie Because some fool (aka collectors) is willing to pay that much. I mean, why would an autograph get $5000 at an auction? Because some fool is willing to pay that much for some scribbling....

@ProbablyCoolerThanU Heck, aren't all collectibles kinda stupid. I mean, what is the USE of an original baseball card, comic book, coin or stamp? Any reproduction is just as useful and beautiful. It's all about those fools called collectors or investors, constantly driving the prices up. Same goes for diamonds, pearls, Rolex watches (my $10 LCD watch has more functions than a $2000 Rolex!), etc. And don't get me started about autographs!!!!

@ProbablyCoolerThanU At least the wine is drinkable and irreproduciable. Think about the fools that pay millions for a painting that you can see free on the Web. Or get a $25 poster of it if you want it life size. Heck, didn't someone just pay over $1 million for a piece of paper where John Lennon wrote the lyrics to a song? So while paying $20K for wine is stupid, paying over $1 million for stuff you can experience free is even stupider, especially since it's just for ink/paint on paper.

It's just a bottle of fucking wine!
And if their is anybody on earth willing to pay 20k for a bottle of wine they need a serious fucking reality check.

What I dont get is why would any wine cost that much.

Heh, Yeah lately Ive been despising News Anchors(Right & Left Wing) most of them are so fake and disingenuous. IMO a lot of them seem to be happy to report bad news
I don't believe this story. Why would anyone leave something so expensive (and Rare!!!) unprotected? Forget theft -- how about someone accidentally dropping it while handling it? Even if you leave it in a public area, keep it locked under a glass case! It looks very fishy to me ... an insurance scam, maybe? No insurance company would pay after seeing how irresponsible the store is.
And yes, those journalists were completely out of sync that day. They usually have better rapport.

who keeps a $20,000 bottle of wine somewhere that accessable to theft?
on another note...news anchors act so lame.

I agree. Perhaps it was an insurance scam. It just seems too stupid to be real. I mean, even if it doesn't get stolen, someone might accidentally drop it.. Please read my notes.
As for the anchors, yeah there was no chemistry that day because of them is a substitute anchor.
