Just look at the expression on young Erica's face (playing Lesley Gore) when the real Lesley Gore does some stage business with the kleenex - priceless.

This was a rehearsal for the curtain call when Lesley joined the cast on stage. No pressure for Erica - she was singing 28 songs made famous by Lesley Gore in front of Lesley Gore.

I know Lesley enjoyed it. As I sat in the audience next to her, she was singing along. Lesley also had dinner with the leads and what an honour that was. - jfb

I can assure you that I asked Lesley's permission to upload before I did so. I am in personal contact with her at least a couple of times a year and I know she has visted this site. She has personally e-mailed her comments on some of the videos.

I am such a fan that if at any point she asked me to discontinue promoting the show, to close this site or destroy the script. I WOULD DO SO -jfb

Answering a private e-mail but sharing this info at the same time. Originally there was to be no taping or photos. But in a youth theatre group, high school theatre group or community theatre group video and photograph cameras are everywhere. It does exist and I saw no reason not to post the video so cast members could relive this moment. There is actually about 45 minutes more. If you check the yahoo site dedicated to the show you'll see the actual performance night - video quality is inferior.

wow this sure brings back some good memories.

this was one of my favorites, i still sing these songs around the house.

I'm doing a school project on Kings theatre and i was looking through old pictures of all my plays and all i could do was laugh.

I keep forgetting how teeny-tiny Lesley is! Have never forgotten what a great song "My Town" is and how big it could (and should) have been had Mercury's promotion force at that point been comatose.
