I LOVEEEE PAGE'S Tele tone! it is so raunchy and fits right with jonsey deep bass growl. its funny, but even though page started using the les paul in late 1969, he didnt use it that much on led zeppelin 2 like everyone thinks. i would say he used the les paul alot on the fourth album. but not that much before than (just listen to his tone) it sounds hollow and raunchy. no, jimmy added the phase switching on his les paul after led zep. so how did he get that tone? telecaster.

nothing beats the rawness of Zep's early days. '73 and thereafter, take a hike. 1969 through 1971/72 for me.
