I would say that normally the best-ranked school in the world is, by far, Harvard. It normally tops every list, except for the national ones (which oftentimes place Princeton on top). Cambridge is the best-ranked school in the UK in general, but it usually is 3rd or 4th on global rankings. UChicago is usually among the top 10, but when it comes to undergraduate education it is probably more respected than any other school.

@luciebower I think i can manage it... if its interesting. It would sure help if its a fun place to be though. Are people generally friendly? Would you say that the atmosphere is warm? I would love to be at a place where there are lots of people who can actually hold a conversation on say, nihilism, but i also need a place where people are genuinely nice and are interested in being social and just getting to know each other for support and comraderie.

@hrolvnir I have to say that the academic life is fulfilling if you can manage your time, but for me it's been much harder socially. Normal people are needed, so if you want to improve a school with your kindness and openness, you should come. You'll learn a lot.

So I got accepted to UCHicago, but I dont know.. is it really that stressful? People say it's really tough and not much fun. Anyone from UChicago want to give direct opinions? Anything appreciated, earnestness and candor preferred.
