The second part of two with the performance of a piece for live computer, electro acoustic percussion board and effects units. The computer is used to play a number of time-stretched samples (made with the free software PaulStretch), and later, some frequency modulated sounds made with Vaz Modular. The Springboard is an amplified board with hardware (screws, springs, etc) put into it. Its sound is treated with 2 effects units - the Korg Mini KP and the Alesis Air F/X - both of which are controlled by moving your hands near them. The Owl samples are played on a Yamaha SU-10 mini sampler. The piece was performed at the People's Culture Palace in Camperdown, NSW on April 11, 2010. Thanks to Nick Shimmin for hosting the event. This second part begins with the same quote from Nicholas Slonimsky which ended part 1. I divided the 18 minute piece in two because of YouTube's 10
minute time limit on videos. I'm performing live musique concrete while wearing my Xenakis fan-boy t-shirt. Enjoy!
