STS-130 Night Launch Space Shuttle Endeavour, From NASA KSC Press Site

This was shot at the Press Site at Kennedy Space Center during the launch of space shuttle Endeavour to the International Space Station. This is the last scheduled night launch of the space shuttle ever. Endeavour delivered the Tranquility Node 3 module and cupola to the space station.

Titusville definitely has a better view than the space center unless you can get a ticket to stand out on NASA Causeway. The visitor center view is not as good as Space View Park or Kennedy Point (or anywhere along the river) in Titusville. I used to go there years ago to watch. Now I have to be at the KSC Press Site (in front of the flag and clock). Have to, get to... whichever lol. That's a perk of being in the news media I guess.

I'd like to have a clock on the camera, but that's not possible. With a night launch, I have to zoom in because of the contrast between the flame of the SRB's and the night sky. If I stay zoomed out, then all you'd see of launch would be a big orange glow. I prefer to get zoomed in to be able to see the shuttle rising. But, maybe zooming in at T-6 instead of T-30. Oh, and remembering NOT to fad to black after tower clear. That was my mistake.

Well, thanks for posting this video. We watched from the river bank in Titusville and it was amazing. I was hoping to see an unedited view from the Press Site. The TV coverage switches view every other second and it just ruins the moment. I like to watch it from one point of view through the liftoff period. Then it's OK for the replays to jump around. Again, thanks... I got goosebumps all over again watching your video.

Obama is not cutting the space programme. The shuttle was due to retire this year even before Obama took office.
