USS The Sullivans (DDG 68) Arriving at Port Mayport FL

I don't often write on facebook but I felt this was a video worth sharing. We are staying at a RV site on Mayport Naval base in Jacksonville, FL right on the port. While listening to the news I heard that the USS Sullian was retuning to its... home port after a seven month deployment in the Pursian Gulf. Within 20 minutes it was in sight. What an awesome experience. People were gathered on the shore welcoming the Sailors who were all dressed in dress whites on deck. I heard one man say to two little boys, 'Look, there's mommy in the middle'. So often we take for granted the freedoms we all have because of sacrfices of everyone in the military. Today was a "lump in the throat" reminder.
