@seanB81 when it comes to drumming being diverse in metal counts....technique speed power groove creativity and just a prowess and presence behind the kit drummers like gene hoglan chris adler john tempesta paul bostaph nicko mcbrain excellent examples :)

@drunkasssteve Well, I definitely agree that Testament are more technical. In that respect they're better, but I guess, to me, White Zombie had a more original sound. Depends on your definition of "better" ... but both great bands! I just can't stand when some metal fans think better means, faster or more technical only. Sure there's crazy drummers like Dave Lombardo, but I'd take Chuck Biscuits of Danzig for example any day. Far more interesting/diverse style.

@seanB81 I agree that many metal "fans" are borderline retarded, but White Zombie was certainly not better than Testament (on a technical level). I love me some White Zombie, and it's probably the best metal MTV ever played. But considering musical ability and how it sounds to the ear, Testament beats White Zombie over the head with a spiked steel rod over and over.

@drunkasssteve Lots of metal fans are dumb and don't realize that White Zombie is a better and more original band than Exodus and Testament. Nothing against those bands, but c'mon, I hate MTV too but White Zombie were fuckin' awesome.

@drunkasssteve i agree. One thing though, what's "mainstream" about Rob Zombie? He ain't topping the charts is he. To me the word mainstream describes pop artists and bands like U2, Coldplay and Nickleback etc.

For proof that he doesn't need the double bass to kick ass listen to his stuff with the Cult and Helmet. This guy is just a great all around rock drummer, whether it be thrash metal with Testament and Exodus or a good old straight rock group like The Cult
