A scene from the film "Gods and Monsters" in which Whale and Clay have their first "modeling" session. This was filmed for my directing class at Ithaca college.
Great movie choice and scene, but I wasn't able to really watch your video as Whale is English and particularly in this scene he talks about being English. It's part of his character and I feel as if the character lost something when he lost the accent.
I would like to inform you that the character of Clay Boone is a fictional character made by the author of "Father of Frankenstein" and so there isn't really any strong guidelines to him. SAlso, the movie was BASED on the book, it doesn't have to be perfect and, although this actor may be a good age, he pales in comparison to Brendon Fraser when it comes to convincing his audience.
Whale's character IS quite weak. Very bland with poor transition. Clay is ok. He needs to be more uncomfortable and afraid. It IS just a film project, but come on. Get into it.
These are, well first of all , Brendan Frasier was too old to play the young man, cause he was suposed to be 17-18 when he met James Whale, and this young man whoever he is is perfect---however, James, this actor is too young , Mr whale was 85-90 when he started seeing young men in his studio---and this whale looks to me to be 45-50....all and all great show!
This is absoulty briliant!---They didint try to do an imitation of Ian Mikellen and Brendan Frasier---they did there own things with the characters--the relationship between Clay and the Flamboyant Artist---Wonderful!...
do you have the full film? it would be great to see
