Ken Colyer Skiffle Group - Down Bound Train

Another '78' produced in 1956 - over fifty years ago! The reverse side of the '78' is Mule Skinner' which will be added soon.

Personnel: Ken Colyer - guitar and vocal, John Bastable - banjo, Mickey Ashman - bass, Colin Bowden - washboard.
Recorded: London - 25/5/56.

The railway scenes were shot at Shelton Steelworks in 1995.

This is very good. My memory of skiffle is of a much rougher sound. This can hold its head alongside many original blues records. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I was at the Foxfield Gala 27th-29th July 2007. This engine set the bank afire! The German submarine commander was there, minus beard!
