The Dominican brothers at Blackfriars Oxford sing the 'Alma Redemptoris Mater', an antiphon to the Virgin Mary traditionally sung during Advent. This is the solemn Dominican chant tone of the antiphon.

  • This is the hymn mentioned in "Sixty Saints for Boys", by Joan Windham. Little St. Hugh sings this hymn, while crossing the unchristian part of town. Lovely hymn for a lovely story.
