    It's in meters of film. 8000 ft. / 120 minutes (2 hours) = 66 2/3 feet per minute of movie. That times 1.483 seconds (the length of this video) is 98.99. If you do that divided by 0.3048 ( conversion factor for feet to meters, it's 30.17 meters!

    The sun is 8 LIGHT minutes away from the earth meaning thats how fast light takes to get here, while the store is ten BIKE minutes away so it takes 10 minutes to get to the store on a bike but 8 minutes for the suns light to reach us

    It's really just about the fact that Rulers are terribly inaccurate compared to Cesium-clocks. We can measure "time" way better than we can measure "distance", so that's what we do.
