DNxHD Codec - Beauty Without Bandwidth
Avid DNxHD is a revolutionary HD codec technology engineered to create mastering-quality HD media at dramatically reduced file sizes, shattering the barriers to real-time HD productivity, whether using local storage or in real-time collaborative workflows.
@geoffdoor My problem was fixed long ago. I use Sony Vegas Pro 10 and the problem had something to do with my old laptop, new laptop works perfect. Thanks for your concern though.

@lollalot well splash out on AVID MEDIA COMPOSER - then and you wont have these headaches shoot on a canon 7 or 5 D your pictures and stories will have resonance instead of downloading this software so that software can be used with that software its never ending that way

It would help if I was able to use Avid DNxHD in my software. Sadly, after installing it a couple of times I cannot for the life of me seem to find or use this codec. Running Windows 7, Sony Vegas, Mpeg Streamclip and, well, nothing is recognising this. Please help?

I am trying to figure out which dnxhd format to use when I am editing my footage from my SONY EX1r. I guess, what's the difference in these codecs? thanks

@donkeyridersrock
Does Avid MC5 still use the same editing style where you enter 'modes' like trim, color, bla bla bla?
Should I wait and get Avid MC6?

The video description is 100% accurate. Avid pwns at real-time playback of footage editing, compositing, and many pratical effects.
Avidvishal, quick question. I've been running Avid 2.8 for years, I'm afraid to upgrade to Avid 5.0 because according to a B&H reviewer; "The architecture of Media Composer 5.0 has been redesigned to be more friendly toward users familiar with Final Cut Pro, as MC5.0 now allows for the "drag and drop" style of editing." has this made Avid slower???
