I hate it when people clap when a plane lands! What are they expecting to happen? You wouldn't clap if a bus driver pulls into the depot or a train drivers stops the train at its final station, so why clap when a pilot lands a plane? It's their job and passion and what they are trained to do, I think its almost insulting to the pilot by saying well done for getting us here safely even though the passengers are just appreciating a good flight, but is makes no sence to me!

No, they must turn off all electrical equipment that could mess with stuff in the cockpit. Phones today have a 'FLIGHT' option that removed the option to use BLUETOOTH and the option to make calls thus making it safe for flight
