This is from an anti-war protest held in a church where public school children were led in song by their public school teacher... Many in attendance would have cried foul (separation of church and state) had this been a conservative gathering.

This was part of the protest A.N.S.W.E.R.Seattle held for the 1st anniversary of the Iraq war

  • You're trying to rewrite history. Granted, the Taliban is an extreme group. They're a Conservative religious group that felt it had a right to impose its views on those who didn't share them, kind of like the religious right here except at a greater extreme. The Taliban was destroying ancient archeology too. But since you don't remember or refuse to believe, the Taliban asked for evidence of guilt. The US would demand evidence too if a nation demanded extradition of anyone residing here...

  • @NightriderXP1 The Taliban made clear that Osama was not some lawless outsider working without its knowledge, but an invited guess who had their support and encouragement, why is this distinction so hard to grasp?

  • Afghanistan is a pretty lawless country. Many groups could set up camp there without full knowledge by the govt. They can do that here in the US too. In fact, there are militias popping up all over this country & many may be planning Oklahoma City like bombings of their own. Should the US govt be held responsible for the nuts who reside here? You're blaming the Taliban for things they didn't control. The Taliban asked for proof of guilt before extraditing. Instead, we invaded...

  • @NightriderXP1 I said "consent and aid" not "planning" although the difference is more semantics then anything. The Taliban government gave safe haven to Osama bin Laden before and after the attack, they had refused to turn him over in February of that year for his many other crimes we gave them proof the rejected it. al-Qaeda had an untenably close relationship with the Taliban. Remember the Bush Doctrine, "We will make no distinction between the terrorists and those who harbor them"

  • The Taliban had nothing to do with the planning of the 911 attacks. If any country made demands to the US to turn over ppl living here w/o providing evidence of gult, do you think the US would comply with those demands? WE WOULD NOT. The Taliban had every right to expect proof before extraditing bin Laden. GW decided to invade Afghanistan instead. The mission was to capture bin Laden & destroy Al Qaeda, not to destroy the Taliban. Do you know how many nations have failed in Afghanistan???

  • @NightriderXP1 Fighting the Taliban is not mission creep, that mission was laid down in October when it became clear the Taliban was not going to comply with our demands, There is no doubt then or now that Osama planed and order the attacks from Afghanistan with Taliban consent and aid. The Taliban’s request for evidence was just a delaying ploy.

  • The Taliban is a Conservative Religious political organization. They ran the govt of Afghanistan & refused to extradite bin Laden to us until we provided evidence that he was involved in the 911 attacks. We refused to do so but instead invaded Afghanistan. Al Qaeda is mostly gone there now, which was the original intent of the mission. Due to Mission Creep, we're now fighting the Taliban. The Taliban didn't attack us, so why would we continue fighting them? We'll never kill them all...

  • @NightriderXP1 We went in to oust the Taliban for their refusal to stop rendering aid to Al Qaeda, aside from the fact that they are a murderous backwards regime of woman hating troglodytes. The difference between the Sunnis and Shias is that they will and have joined forces to fight those they feel threaten Islam, (real or imagined) is largely based on whether a elected leader or appointed leader should rule over Islam.

  • @NightriderXP1 The Paris Peace Accords of 1973, signed in January by March 1973 the last American combat soldiers left South Vietnam, though military advisors and Marines, who are protecting U.S. installations, remain. For the United States, the war was officially over. No Americans lives were lost to HOSTILE ACTION from the last months of 72 till the last push from the North and the fall of Saigon

perhaps you need a bit of home schooling, they score better on all test

  • You seem to naively believe that Al Qaeda and the Taliban are one in the same. They are not. It was Al Qaeda that attacked us on 911, not the Taliban nor Saddam Hussein. You might want to brush up on who is who and who did what. I bet you don't even know the difference between the Sunnis and Shias...
