@kame0tamago Trust me, I have to work with the 77W and A330-300. I prefer the MD-80 than the both, so much that I have the stall warning as my ringtone. Thats how everyone knows i'm a pilot.

@kame0tamago I think it's just a matter of training, you have to get used to the type of equipment you fly, that's it, i'm sure no MD80 pilot is startled or rushed by the CAWS of the airplane.
Understand you prefer the Airbus philosophy, it gives a great help to the pilot,,about me, I'm an 'old style' pilot, so I'm glad I don't have to fly an Airbus.

I really hate how harsh the warnings are on the md-80. So glad I don't fly them. Airbus has a much more relaxed EICAS and warning annunciators, much better to keep from startling oneself and causing one to do something rash.
