  • I got a Fabia hatchback with the exact VW AUB engine. When did you first change the timing belts on it? Mine's got 100.000 km and it never had its timing belts changed and I'm a little worried.

  • I have 169.000KM . I have not changed timing belts.

  • Are you sure? Mine has 129000km and I'm thinking of changing it. At how many km says the producer it needs to be changed?

  • The manufacturer does not when it swapped for this engine. Just need to check the belt. Sorry for my English.

  • @JaRoY33 The manufacturer say to check first at 60.000 miles and then every 20.000 miles ( replace if necessary) .

  • @maemaisagat manufacturer does not give an exchange on this engine,

    Only check belt

  • I had to disconect the battery from an 2003 Skoda Fabia,1.4 16v with the Symphony radio, after reconecting, it locked itself..i don't have code,it's 4 digit code. So,can someone send me code, please.

  • @oprism2000 Yes it does, 2 of them actually. A main one from the crankshaft to the admission camshaft, and a smaller one from the admission camshaft to the exhaust camshaft.

I saw them when I had them changed at 104.000km. The belts were in good shape, but the tensioners were broken.

  • @StealthB6 This engine has no time belts,it has chain distribution.

  • is the proformance good

  • @Seba03111976

Yeah sometimes they are, but you really should change it at the intervalls, because the engine can be destroyed if the belt rips.

I changed mine for the 2nd time at 140.000, it is a Felicia.

The belt was only about 40.000 km old, but i changed it because it was about 5 years old and brittle.

The belt is a really sensitive thing :D

  • @24MartinONDS I just change it (belt) at 135000. It was still in good condition.

  • @Seba03111976

You need to know if it hast a Timing Chain or a Belt.

Normally you should change the belts for the fabia i guess about 120.000km or 6 Years.

    Chains at 250.000 km
