Hey. I am 28.and I have OI. and it took me many years to climb up and down from my chair.. You definently should be proud that she could do that at such a young age. When I was that age I had to be caried everywhere. Let alone climb into a wheelchair or out of one from the floor. Independance is a really big thing for me and Im sure as she gets older she'll have more of it.

@wheelblack35 I'm not sure what you meant by that comment. We are very proud of our daughter for being able to get in and out of her chair independently. This is a major accomplishment for the child who was not supposed to survive birth let alone climb in and out of her chair. If you are concerned over the amount of times I told her to be careful, you should take into account her condition. Osteogenesis Imperfecta type 3. Look it up and inform yourself before you pass judgement!
