Julian Ovenden performing Being Alive from Company at the 2010 BBC Proms celebrating Sondheim's 80th birthday. An amazing performance!

  • do u have the sweeney todd section

  • @waggers1919 I do actually. I'm still working on vidding it all, but once I do I'll upload everything. The Sweeney Todd stuff was pretty amazing, I was just *so* overexcited about Being Alive that I did that first.

  • Love this Musical Theatre man... He's my fav...

  • @baabaagreensheep he is amazing - and it helps that Being Alive is one of my favourite numbers of pretty much all time. I was just wowed, I have to say.

  • This is dreadful. Absolutely awful. Rarely have I seen a performer so disconnected from the composer's original intention for a song.

  • @shmoogle14 yeah, that jump at the end reminds me of when Howard Dean screamed "yEaH!!!!"

  • He's Fucking Fantastic

  • he's cute :)

  • ...such as this given the comparisons that will be made and I think he did a great job...

  • Very powerful. Of course its a concert performance in front of an audience that have not followed the whole ''Company' musical so an in character performance may have seemed a little weak. This definately has impact and in such a large arena with a massive ochestra the leap just makes a statement. Well done. Its a big ask for a performer to tackle a spotlight song sich

  • This is just beautiful. :')

He has an amazing voice. Dang!

  • 4:19 just reminds me of the trolololo guy

  • he has an incredible voice but he doesn't make me feel it like raul esparza does. barrowman is not in the same class as either of them.

and what on earth does he think he's doing jumping and yelling on the last beat? ruins the whole thing.
