The first half of 2008 is turning out to be a violent year behind bars with six assaults between prisoners since January, the increase in assaults a symptom of overcrowding. KXLY4's Jeff Humphrey reports.
Factually, many people in prison these days are sex offenders, mostly non-violent ones (i.e. teens who had consensual sex with other teens). Thanks to political corruption, prison overcrowding gets worse every year, especially in states like Texas, and that raises our taxes. We need to start differentiating between violent and non-violent crimes.
