This is a quick video showing my homemade 12x12 paper storage solution using 3 Rubbermaid Storage Cube Sets and some cable ties!!! I got the idea from a how-to guide I stumbled across on eBay.
Here is the link: http://reviews.ebay.ca/Construct-Your-Own-Paper-Storage-Shelves_W0QQugidZ1000...
It's a super cheap way (approx $50) to get the storage needed for that ever growing stash of scrapbooking paper!!!
I hope you enjoyed!!! Thanks for watching!!! ;-)

  • What I have problem with storage like this is how do you stop the papers fading.

I have just put all my paper and card into a closet space with lots of shelving which is fine for my A4, but my 12 x 12's I am storing on shelving outside but covered, so it is not so easily accessible BUT a least does not show fading edges or tops.

So would love to know how you manage them.

    Thanks

  • @ScattyCardCrafter Hi there...I've never had a problem with my papers fading??? They aren't in direct sunlight...so they seem to do just fine. I'm not sure what to say??? The only thing I can suggest is to avoid putting your storage unit where the sun will hit it...you could also try storing the paper texture or design side down so that if it was at risk of fading...it would be the negative side that fades and not the side shown in a project. Anyway...I hope you find a solution! TFW ~ Leanne

  • Thank you so much for this tutorial. What a great idea. I've been bugging my local store for their paper shelves when they're done with them, haha. Thank you for being SOOO generous with your ideas and sharing them with us. I appreciate that SOOOOO much!!!

    Hugs and blessings,

    Brook

  • @brooknrich Aww thanks for your kind words! I'm so glad you are enjoying my videos! I know!!! Those paper shelving units are hard to come by! That's why I made my own lol! Take care ~ Hugs Leanne ;-P

  • You are so generous with your ideas. I've already incorporated your Clip It Up 2 idea and I bought three revolving shoe trees. I'm tweaking how I will make the best use of them--I have so many ideas. Thanks again and I'll keep watching. You are so delightful.

  • @ktgzmom Hey there! Thanks so much for your sweet comment! I'm so glad you are enjoying my videos :-D Have fun with your homemade clip-it-up!!!! Hugs ~ Leanne :-)

  • thanks for the video, I have looked for these cubes for months. What store did you find them? Thanks for your help.

  • I usually don't subscribe but I just love your how to ideas and money saving tips. great job.

  • Great idea! I'm going out to buy one now!

  • Thank you sooo much for showing this tip. I went out, bought it, and assembled it and it looks fabulous in my craft room. I bought a six cube pack (19.99 @ Target) and I stacked it three cubes high and used the remaining "pieces" as shelves. FABULOUS...TFS!

  • I found some of these cubes at a local thrift store...didn't have the money to buy them..maybe I will be able to soon. :)

  • You have a really neat system. Thanks for posting ;)

  • I've been trying to find these in Australia but have no luck :-( anyone have any ideas ?
