A project I worked on a while ago when I was requested to create a table for spinning a person around with a green screen background. Sort of a rush job and quite embarrassing, but I thought I'd share the concept since if used properly it can add value to your production.

Using a front wheel hub which can be purchased brand new for just over $20 dollars, you can create a table that can easily spin several hundred pounds. I haven't seen anyone take this approach before. Since very little force is needed to move the hub, you can use string to pull it manually. Or it can be motorized with small motors, and can even be pulled with a simple Bicycle inner tube. No matter how much weight you put on there, it moves like butter...

I got the details at the blog http://Cheesycam.com

  • Hey I am not sure if you will still reply. I've seen your blog. I run a review site hardware bbq but as all startups money is a fuckup but this seems to be an awesome thing i can do.

I just wanted to know- the base. Isn't it 4 circular base in total? I am not into photography so please excuse my n00bism when I ask: how do you get such a big white background?

  • @fishyjack86 I used different sized table to run a belt through. The big white background is a roll of seamless paper with a backdrop stand. You can look that up on the web and find it in photo and video stores.

  • can you get the drill at walmart ? ... great job !

  • @AztecBodyart The drill doesn't have to be heavy duty. It's quite easy to spin. Probably better if you had a good belt.
