  • @SuperSharain, coming from experience, this is the most recent appropriate sign. The sign where you twist your wrist near your chin is the old inappropriate sign. :)

  • please provide a translation for those of us who don't speak ASL!

  • @kimsweeney Just click the CC and captions will be turned on. The captions are already there.

  • I would so love to date a deaf gay guy. I reckon we could have so much chemistry. I would learn sign language just for him. (and myself, its a really useful language.) anyways nice vid!

  • @ANIMALcop0403 ASL is a language, just like English, Russian, Japanese, ext. The first initial of those languages are capitalized and that's why the 'A,' 'S,' and 'L' are in American Sign Language, too.

  • I bet texting has made it so much easier to communicate with hearing folks.

  • that karina torres in there?

  • @lawfel

Twisting it near the chin, with an "x" index finger is the sign for transsexual. It means, literally, "CHANGE SEX".

The open to closed hand twist on the chest is an attempt to show the "change of heart" meaning gender/whats inside. The twist near the chest is the more umbrella term, and has less negative connotations, as it talks about how one self identifies instead of what genitalia one has. Or, at least, that's how it was explained to me.

  • IT's hard to see the person's signs and as well need more light able to see the signs.

  • do any of you guys know my mom or dad? Kubby Rashid, or Bunmi Aina? They work at gallaudet, and both are deaf,
