Gyapjúfonó Múzeum / Woolspinnig Museum

The Apaceller family have dealt with traditional woolspinning for long decades. We set up a woolspinning museum in the industrial unit of our house in 1996. The machines are relaxing now, but we intend to put them into operation again after some adequate preparations and welcome visitors.
In connection with it, you can find information on our contacts of our family enterprise.
Our wooden and metal framed carding-machines that make fleece into soft fur then so-called foreyarn are more than 100 years old. Visitors were capivated by the pleasant rattling they have during working. The famous Spinning Jenny that brought the industrial revolution into action twists the foreyarn to be thick and strong enough to be suitable for winding on spool. It is not going to far to assert that our museum piece spinning machine that works perfectly is unique in Hungary, perhaps even in Central Europe, too. The last process is to twine the spooled yarn and finally wind it to hanks.
After a previous arrangement, we look forward to welcome local and foreign visitors, families companies, interested students and their teachers, and experts as well to our small family museum, which has historical and industrial importance, in all likelihood from the end of the year.
We provide information and instructions about the machines and woolspinning in English and in German for our visitors.
And of course, if you feel like it, you can try easier working processes.
Drop in on our place and let you share in the revived past, our ancestors specific handcraft and tradition.
thats a good video!
