  • no, the guy at 2:22 dove out of the way so he didnt get hit with anything...how is it not blaringly obviously

  • Hardly any science in this. It is hard to tell with only one trial for both the experimental and the control situation because you cannot calculate the error. It looks more like self-fulfilling prophecy on the part of Pumphry. This kind of "experiment" would get ripped to shreds in a peer-reviewed journal.

Sports science? Not really. Sports entertainment? Kind of.

  • he didn't break the last brick

  • the one at the bottom didn't break

  • FUS RO DAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mcrenren it didnt break cause the bricks holding it up did.

  • First break he screams after or at contact, and secondly... even if screaming forces OXYGENated blood to the extremities, explosive force is almost entirely anaerobic i.e. without OXYGEN. I agree, we need to see more studies on that and I'd be interested to see the results.

  • love how he just does a ninja roll after the break hahaha

  • Paul uses roar. Sp attack raises sharply

  • At times, Sport Science can be so stupid. Take 1 control, 1 sample and they deem it to be 'proven'. Whilst in this case, it does help to 'scream', it is really amusing to assume that a scream will boost your 'energy' by 25%.

Also, Paul Pumphrey naturally seems to incorporate his screaming into his practice. I bet that if Pumphrey practiced his art without the screams, then these results would be much different.

  • i think screaming does just what paul says: help him let go of everything therefor improving coordination
