It's called a Chapman Stick. Specifically, mine's an 8 string bass version.

I agree. I've seen those videos, too, and I'm almost sorry I did.
As sick as it sounds, there's a very practical reason why he had be to dead first before they cut off his head - the arteries in his neck would have showered the room (and everyone in it) in blood as the heart was beating.
-
i've seen those videos. Apparantly I must not have seen specifically Daniel Pearl. I watched 3 or 4 beheading videos but not in 3 or 4 years. If you're saying Daniel Pearl was already dead, I'll take your word for it because I don't have the stomach to watch them again. However, it's clearly their M.O. to behead while the victim is alive. Maybe they got carried away and killed Pearl too soon. I don't know. But I'm sure it was there intention to do it while he was alive.

OK, agree to agree, or not. I don't see how you feel a video of an animal sawing another human's head off, alive or dead, could be sensationalized, but whatever. I don't even understand what we were arguing about. Have fun with you sitar, or 12-string bass, or whatever your holding.
May peace be with you...

So, let's recap so you don't misunderstand me:
I agree that beheading is barbaric.
I agree that the people doing the beheadings are barbarians.
What I do not agree with is your sensentionalization of the Daniel Pearl execution video.
As you are quick to point out, it was a heinous act in and of itself and it doesn't need to be made any more so.
-
Why are you suddenly changing the subject from Daniel Pearl to Nick Berg and a Korean student?
-
One more time:
The only reason I'm "attacking" you is that you have deliberately misrepresented the content of the Daniel Pearl video.
You said that he was "kicking and screaming" and that he had to be held down, even after being restrained.
I have shown this to be false.
I am not saying nor have I ever said that the act was any less barbaric because Daniel was dead when the beheaded him - that statement was entirely of your making.
-
Why don't you supply me a link. I'll supply you a link to Nick Berg's head getting sawn off and to a Korean student's head being sawed off. Seriously, what's your point?
what attacks have been prevented by waterboarding? none that have been identified to the public. cheney was talking about a few things in his speech last week, but there was no torture used in any of those instances.

yea but back in reality here we have something called the "law", and enforcing it fairly is what makes america great. why base your moral groundings off what a terrorist would do? get your own morals
torture = antiAmerican
