@mattrg470 they'd been together for a few years at this point. You can hear him tear out his voice before he leaves. I'm a professional singer & I think what was going on with Axl is that this material is all written at the extreme far end of his vocal range for when he's in perfect shape and well rested. Doing this kind of shit every night it becomes physically impossible, but he couldn't show any weakness so he'd just walk out; or rest up and warm up longer before shows and be late.
