dentists and periodontists are in it for the money...
i have found several Periodontal disease treatments that are completely painless
but take time to work

OralMax Gum Disease Treatment can help you with bleeding gums, inflammation, sensitivity and dental mobility.
Can help stop bone loss and reduce the dental mobility from grade 2 to grade 0 (Miller's Classification).
All this thanks to the tannin acids (astringent) naturally obtained from different quercus species evaluated and recognized as an effective substance against bleeding gums, inflammation and dental mobility in diabetic and non-diabetic patients.

The AAP is a LOBBY, whose interests are for the PROFITS of its MEMBERS. So - yes - they will never ever endorse PP. My periodontist wanted me to get a huge amount of VERY expensive and painful gum surgery.
I did my own research, found Perio Protect and now my gums are in great shape, aren't sensitive at all, don't bleed, etc. My trays were 750 each (negotiated from $900 - All things are negotiable!
Just make sure you get a GREAT hygienist for that deep cleaning!!!!

It's not the same. You not only need a mild (3%) hydrogen perioxide gel (not sure if Katz sells this). But you also need PRESCRIPTION antibiotic drops that go into the trays WITH the Perio Gel. The two together, along with perfectly fitting trays ensures that infection is killed off and allows your gums to them heal themselves.
I have now been on this system since Nov 2008. It has been AMAZING and well worth every penny.
How much does this perio protect cost? Does traditional dental insurance cover it? Though my dentist won't acknowledge my gum disease yet, I do have gum recession, and exposed roots in my back teeth already (!!). I want to nip this in the bud before it can get any worse.

It depends on your insurance plan. Some cover it, and some don't. I wouldn't let an insurance executive decide how healthy you are though, they are more interested in their profit. Some things in life are just worth it, like your teeth.

The best part of this system is how quickly the bleeding goes away when using the trays. And THAT is what researchers are the most concerned about - when your teeth bleed - that's when the bacteria from gum disease can get introduced into the other areas of your body - i.e. the heart, .....

I understand how the trays can kill the bacteria in the pockets but this seems to be a short term solution correct? I mean, it doesnt promote growth in the gums or bone does it? So if a patient ever stops using the trays the bacteria will almost certainly reinfect the pockets. Is this correct?

Every solution is a temporary solution to gum disease. You can either have your temporary solution done by a dentist when it might be too late, or you can take control of your own health, and have the highest degree of homecare currently available - to prevent gum disease, or maintain a healthy oral environment. Also, you can TREAT gum disease with this system and knock out the disease in a matter of days. It's the best system currently available.
