  • he was standing there doing nothing for a long time, and the video is really  bad quality

  • In the video, he stood there for about 20 seconds.

    In the actual demonstration, he stood there for about a minute before moving.

    As for the quality of the video, it was shot using a mobile phone, so you may want minimize it instead of using the default window size.

  • When I was in China last I got told to relax the mind body and spirit before doing any forms. This comprised of doing 8 relaxed breaths. I think this is what he is doing. I think there is a number of reasons for this:

    A.After 8 breaths you are in a suitable frame of nimd and you are relaxed.

    B.You become aware of a natural rythm so you do the form in a natural timing and rythm.

    C.The number 8 is very auspicious number!

  • It's not really Yang-style; all the movements are Yang-style, but it was composed by a Chinese government council in the 50s. But yes, it is very easy to learn, and has many good fighting techniques in it.
