  • Johnny sounds in this version likes he is out of breath on nearly ever stanza. What's interesting is Hank Snow was NOT the first person to do this song. He WAS the first AMERICAN to have a hit with it, however. It was originally written in AUSTRALIA, using names of Aussie towns. Legend has it, Snow heard it on a trip to Australia, but that may be only a 'legend'.
