This is a test firing of Greyfells' trebuchet on October 29, 2011. In this test the counterweight was not filled, and weighed roughly 750 pounds, or about half the full weight.
The distance of this shot was roughly 296 feet.
At present the trebuchet has been throwing ten pound stones and pumpkins roughly 400 feet in some tests. However, we have yet to test the trebuchet with a full counterweight. It is believed distances of up to 900 feet may be possible with a fully loaded counterweight and the correct pin angle and sling length.
The vast majority of the work in building this siege was done by Sperry Lee and Gary Walker, with some early contributions from other Greyfells.
