A-10 Thunderbolt Live Fire Excersice Rescuing Downed Pilot, Conducting Close Air Support.

The M61 Vulcan is a hydraulically or pneumatically driven, six-barreled, air-cooled, electrically fired Gatling-style rotary cannon which fires 20 mm rounds at an extremely high rate. The M61 and its derivatives have been the principal cannon armament of United States military fixed-wing aircraft for fifty years. The M61 was originally produced by General Electric, and after several mergers and acquisitions is currently produced by General Dynamics.

  • @ganimed1976 Die passieren jede Woche den Kölner Luftraum. Meistens über das VOR Nörvenich ( ETNN ) bis nach Geilenkirchen.

  • Wish the one guy wasn't talking though :c

  • I saw two A-10 Thunderbolts flying in formation over Cologne/Germany on thursday morning. They probably came from an US Airbase in Spangdahlem/Rheinland Pfalz. That´s the only place where A-10 Thunderbolts are stationed in Germany. I never saw one of these aircrafts before. It was an awesome sight.

  • it's a GAU-8 Avenger fitted on an a-10 :)
