This is a very informative lecture on the state of teacher education. Etta Hollins makes the difficulties of teacher education and teacher preparation very clear, explaining the differences between simplistic and complex teacher preparation programs. Responsive teaching involves knowing knowing trends in research, pedagogical practice, curricula, and a myriad of other important aspects of teacher practice. There are no simple answers.

we are trying to produce cookie cuter style teachers. Too much pressure on the teacher. students can scene when a teacher is in fear of losing funding/job for the students failure to be responsible learners.
