I was there in the 60s and this film and this song made me so happy and mixed with youth= a magical time! Although old now i would not want to change that and have been born later and missed it all. The beatles, flower power, the mammas and the pappas. Sadly capitalism and hard drugs and at the end of the decade the mansons killed the dream but for one glorious summer (1967) my then friends (Whom happily we all still are with each other) really came close to making this world a better place.

@draxx77 No, sorry, I am not sure I can.
The actresses of those days had more style. Like cars, they were all full of character, not just pressed out of the same mold, all looking alike.
There are few actresses of class today. It is just not the time for it.

@Laceykat66 Well, we are talking about a FILM, there are actresses of today that could do a good homage to the actress in this film. I am sure that you could name at least one if you tried.

A remake is a bad idea I grant you, but why not the further adventures of????
Surely there are more Modesty stories to tell.
We could use a strong female character in a movie series.
We haven't had one since "Nancy Drew" in the late 1930s.

@draxx77 Maybe, but the problem is that most women today do not have the "style" to pull this off.
It is not always what you have, but how you carry it that matters.
Pretty is a dime a dozen. STYLE is harder to find.

the scot is played by a non scot and the Egyptian by a scot
but The Characters are at least the correct skin tone

@pathwalkerx Monica Vitti is Italian actress. Not Greek. She might be getting on a bit now but boy was she hot in the 60's
