  • I am getting tried of looking at basically the same lookin' locomotive all the time. GE should make a new locomotive outside design and the Evolution diesel is not that much more fuel efficient that locomotives before it

    between 2-5% better and they gotta deal against EMD with their SD70ace. The only reason why they sell is because GE cheats and uses their GE capital division to finance their locomotives out the railroads at such lower interest rates.

  • ALCO dead? Hmmm don't quite think so. FM-Alco just sold two 12-251 Plus engines to the N.R.C. These engines are also Tier 2 emissions compliant.

  • and one more thing. HAs 126 toones build by ukraine. Look on that machine and let me to know what you think. After that start to ask Whis is better. Emd or Ge.

  • im mostly emd fan. I living in europe romania and we have a few locomoive factoryes over here. The rentability is the key here and low maintance. When EMD and GE gonna build 4 stroke Engines than would be grate. Herew we use only Elelctric locomotives and aa few 4 stroke diesels. I favourite is the class232 Locomotive called ludmilla or taigatrommel. look on it. HAs a Kolomnad 5d49 engine 4 troke turbocharged.

  • I do NOT hate GEs. And by the way, you DID NOT block me.

    I DO know that some GE models have been disliked by train crews because they rattle too much. Many liked the P42 because it was comfortable, but hated for how much it estimated in the comp. data

  • Lmao NO, All you think are wrongful. How the SD70 has V16? it guzzle gas than ES44 V12! SD70ACe and ES44AC has same good mantainence because of both are new. And it are not heavy repair. I still like both GE and EMD. Can you shut the fuck up GE hater? ENOUGH! Now you are blocked.

  • SD70aces are more fuel efficent, have better mantainence records, and have better pulling power. the AC44s were NOT rebuilt to new locomotives, but they DID NEED HEAVY REPAIRS, which more or less is rebuilt. Bombardier built a lot of 6 axle units by the way.

  • Only few locomotives with 6-axles were build by Bombardier. I don't care. AC4400CW were rebuilt to new locomotive? That not truly. ES44AC's has 4400 hp V12 than EMD SD70ACe which are 4300 hp V16! GE locomotives FTW!

  • We know Alco died! Bombardier in fact built the HR464, a SIX AXLE LOCOMOTIVE! By the way the predecessor to Bombardier was Montreal Loco. Wrks. a divison of Alco. GE in fact manufactures ALL of their engines in the Erie, BUT some of the componants are manufactured elsewhere, like Canada and Mexico. GE early AC44s were know to be terrible, and they all had to be rebuilt.
