Mortal Kombat 2011 - Hidden Kombatant Instructional Guide: Classic Smoke

All right, here is the third of my instructional guides for discovering the Hidden Kombatants on the arcade ladder. Classic Smoke is the subject this time. I use Ermac for this runthrough and the difficulty level is back at Beginner, but really you won't need to set it to anything for the purposes of this Hidden Kombatant.

Here are the steps as follows:

1. On the arcade ladder, you need to be fighting in the Living Forest.

2. When the fight commences, move to the right a bit and pay close attention to the trees. If you are lucky, Classic Smoke will pop out from behind one of them. As soon as he does, start tapping both the back and select buttons on your controller repeatedly. If done correctly, your current opponent will be immediately defeated and Classic Smoke will appear to face you.

3. If Classic Smoke does not appear in the arena before the first fifteen seconds of the fight expire, you may pause the game, go to Player Select, and try again until you are successful.

That's pretty much it. No need to win flawless victories or play without the block button - just complete the above steps and you're good to go. Classic Smoke comes with the ability to do Scorpion's spear and teleport punch like in Mortal Kombat 2, but otherwise his normal attacks resemble that of the regular Smoke. Be ready to bait him out and punish.
