I think the muted colors are best for showing the new "darkness" in his character. And making it slightly reminiscent of Kryptonian clothing is a cool idea too. It shows a lot of Superman/Kal-El's culture and it gives him a serious look.
All in all, great job on the redesign.

Everyone is being way too "purist" about this. Everyone, or most everyone, is clamoring to go back to the classic suit. NEWSFLASH! This is a reboot! That means they're gonna change a lot of things. Zack Snyder is showing a different side of Superman. We've all seen the Big Blue Boyscout. Zack Snyder is trying to show the seriousness of the Superman Character.

Superman is such an iconic character that if any changes come about to the suit or character there will be hell to pay.I think the look of the new suit sucks personally and it's right up there with the ultimate BAD idea putting nipples on the Bat suit .
