@ElysionFieldsBand this is absolutely right! Joe Kinney did it with his sweat blood and tears! Now look at this guy here showing off on youtube how he squeezes the last 2 centimeters of the gripper - what the hell is that??! When you're doing chin-ups you don't do the last 10 centimeters of the lift, do you?? What kind of half-ass workouts are these??
-
what kind of hard work is that?
joe kinney didnt do any choked style positions, but all sweat, blood, and pure 100% american hard work
-
@3goldy Well, I call it a very useful training tool. That type of training helps one finish off the final centimetre of a gripper. It is actually easier to almost close a gripper for reps than to fully close it for one rep, however I can understand the misconception if you have only trained with store-bought grippers. This may not be a certification close, but it is still a useful training tool.

theres a video on my page illustrating this

@filcox the metal has a tolerance, it will bend slightly before the spring begins to coil up (i.e close) and said tolerance on the 4 is more than an 8th of an inch per handle. So all u did is bend the handles. If you had a shred of intelligence you'd of realised this already
-
@GripExponant Uuuumm, what?! I don't think you know what you're talking about.
-
choked grippers are an excellent way of improving strength but closing the gripper at such a small range normally means your bending the handles to make the close insted of the actual spring
-
@3goldy That's a legitimate training tool, it helps you with the last part of the close, which is miles harder than the first part.

Hey! great "close" and a pretty smart way to work with the last bit! Does it "work"? cause then ill try it my self, allthough iam currently working with the coc 2 but same thing, it needs to be closed :D
keep up the god work!
There are always people who can do nothing more than be negative...luckily YouTube is full of people like that. Thanks for showing us your shallow mind.

is it defenitely beneficial to choke grippers?
XenatR 2 years ago
yes...it allows you to specifically work the last 1/4-1/2" of your closing range
