It is Elk. After Mia was killed by C corp for the avatar, Elk became a zombie... then played R2 of the world under Endrance... which is why he seems anti-social and why he lets AIDA take over him for the sake of feeling like Mia is still alive... didnt you notice his obsession with "Mia"?

I feel really sorry for Elk. The only "person" he was able to trust and love was killed by the person that took her away from him. Curiousity killed the cat.

Dramatic music, he not only loses Mia once, but twice and this theme sounds like he's desperate about protecting her even if it's an illusion created by AIDA, but it gives the feeling like he wants to be free, but is too afraid of doing so by himself.

I dont know if you have this music posted or not but if you could, could you post "victory must be grasped"...that song is one of the most epic ever in .hack//GU. Its the BGM when you fight Kite or Ovan (course you probably know that)
