Han Solo's pistol is very easy to make. All you need to do is find a replica Mauser broomhandle pistol (airsoft, water pistol, whatever), cut the barrel short, and glue a piece of funnel to the end.

They're not intended to be replicas -- they're just clone-STYLE blasters. I've never liked to slavishly duplicate something--I prefer to make my own original designs. If I want an exact copy, I'll buy one. Any idiot can make a copy of something somebody else did, but making something of one's own requires imagination--something few people have.

So I just ignore all the tight-asses who wave their arms and yell "It's not screen-accurate !!!" Who the hell cares. (shrug)

In James Cameron's Aliens, they built the smart guns around German Mg-42's. Which made it pretty easy for me to identify that in Avatar, Jake's machine gun is definitely built around a German Mg- 34
