It's been a long time. I have been cursed with dial up for a year and couldn't even use this website. But DSL has finally reached the boonies so I'm back. Those who subscribed and don't know who I am: I am the guy that did the 100% speed run of Super Metroid LP back in May 2009.

Anyhow Secret of Mana is one of my favorite games of all time. It was my first RPG and I bought it used for $20 in 1996. The game is worth a lot more now! It took me two months to get thru this game (though it felt longer). This game has a certain charm to it. Many people consider this game one of the best of the SNES (it usually makes top 10 lists in best SNES game countdowns). It was a game that was probably inspired by Zelda but was made into an RPG. This game has 8 palaces throughout the game (akin to the 8 dungeons in a Zelda game) but after much development it took on it's own identity.

You get three characters in the game. I'll meet the other two in later videos. After that I get elemental magics. There is also 8 weapons in the game that can be upgraded by forging them. Later on in the game I get to ride a dragon to travel around. This game also has a lot of boss fights (I have a video that is essentially a slide show of all the bosses). You travel to many environments in this game, including a desert, an icy area, a forest, underground, mountains, undersea ruins, a lush paradise, a floating mechanical fortress, among many others.

This game is a pretty epic adventure and I imagine it'll be months before I finish this LP.

  • I used to play this game at my grandma's all the time! I LOVED IT!!! Bless her soul. T_T

  • This game is a lot more harder when I got it for the Iphone. It looks like the SNES is a better way to play it.
