@Mercman97 It depends on the model. Paddle shifters are standard on the Passion line.

Smart needs to produce a version with about 120 horsepower a dual clutch transmission and some sport shocks.

I would say, if the car sells for around 12k dollars, has airconditioner and gets mid to high 30's mpg in city and 40+ mpgs on the highway, you've got a pretty smart buy. Certainly more survivable than a motorcycle, protection from the elements and room for groceries etc. easy to park...i think there's plenty of factors to label it a "smart" choice.
