U.S. GM Finds Chinese Buyer for Hummer

*General Motors Corp. has struck a deal to sell its Hummer truck unit to China's Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery, the companies said on June 2. The Chinese company will keep Hummer's dealer network and management team. The two sides could make a deal in which GM keeps building the H3. GM builds the H2 at a plant in Indiana that is owned by AM General. The three companies could work out an agreement to keep that model going a well. The survival of the brand in the U.S. market may hinge on competing more directly with the Jeep Wrangler, regardless of ownership. The same way as Jaguar and Land Rover are a handy entre into serious car making for Tata, HUMMER could be a way for Chinese automakers to crack the U.S. market.

LOL! Russia was right there with us for the last 60 years, and I wouldn't put them in the same league and China, or India. Russia's population is DECLINING fast, first world birth rates with 3rd world healthcare. Their only saving grace is large deposits of natural resources, in that way they are much the same as Saudi Arabia. There is no chance of Russia rising up and beating America. lol
