Compare the sound between a Ken Smith a Jazz Bass Deluxe and a Yamaha TRB bass. I will always go for the Smith... But sometimes a traditional tone is basic in some situations. The Yamaha sounds very good but it will always be a backup. Make your comments on the sound!!! The recording metod is simple direct to the Tascam FW1082 interface. See you guys!

  • has aumentado the name of the song?

  • ?? dont understand... no entiendo

  • I thought they all sounded very good, just whatever floats your boat I guess.

Maybe turn up a little bass on the Yamaha and it'll sound 5x better. (Sorry, I'm a big Yamaha bass guy) :D

  • well is you watch the video in HQ you will se the eq settings and they where all the same, so thas the point of the video, to compare the true sound, if i start mod the eq well they will all sound very diferent... Yamaha basses are great!!!!

  • Thanks for review on the 3 basses. But there's no way that yamaha can be compared to those high end bass guitars by American manufacturers. Try a faceoff between a Yamaha TRB 5PII or the 6PII (both Japanese made) and we'll see which bass wins. Its THE BEST bass around, heavy but very good.

  • Hi, you are right about the comment, but those are the basses that I own... And in my opinion there is no Yamaha that can be compared to a smith bass but they are expensive... IMO best!

  • hey lester. thanks for putting this vid. . I'd say i prefer the yamaha ( i own one LOL).There Might be a little bias there but i really did the yamaha (smiles)

  • Smith sound is the greatest for fingerstyle i love the mix of smith's low growl and mid sound, fender got its superiority on low punchy slap, for yamaha, i think i agree with you, it's a great bass for your back up.

i dont have any smith, yamaha, nor fender, but i personally will choose smith, for all performance. well, sometimes i need to perform slap, no big deal, i'll just cut the mid, boost the low.. :)

  • @macdabassman thats just the tone, low the tone in the jazz bass and you get the same sound

  • fender y ken smith, yamaha raspa mucho

  • FIRST OF ALL SORRY, I DO NOT SPEAK ENGLISH, USE A TRANSLATOR. KNOW THE YAMAHA TRB 1005, THAT YOU THINK?. BUY IT AND HAVE NOT SENT ME AND NEVER HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO TRY, ONLY I HAVE HEARD AND I LIKED. THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO COMPARISON.

    GREETINGS FROM ARGENTINA!

  • I liked the fender, over the slap sound coming out of Ken's best

  • In the end ....... after all has perished ......... only Smith will remain.

  • fender is fender, is very versatile for all the sltiles.

  • I have to say that the Fender sounded better on the fingering, but the Ken had a better pop and slap sound........Yamaha sounded too much like a cheap bass....just my opinion. I don't like a bass that strings ring out like the Yamaha bass did...makes it sounds like a Toy.
