Parents can only be blamed for so much! The average american student simpley doesn't care very much about their education! Also, I hate to break it to you but the average American Education sucks.

@htcylld very true - all young kids are same, the difference is we in India tell our kids education will give you every thing, but where us an American kid has already got every thing so will never have that urge or willingness to work hard...may be this will change if American economy shrinks and people find it difficult to get job...

there is nothing wrong with american students, they are same as smart as chinese or indian student. things that really goes wrong is the american government, they are cutting the budget on education in order to launch more missiles in middle east.........

America is a big, big place. There are stupid people there and there are many intelligent ones, just like most countries.

@purplesierrafluff No, the American Education spends the MOST money compared to China and India. Their education doesn't suck, it's the students that MAKE it suck by not dedicating themselves into it.

@Benatako @Benatako It sounds like you either haven't spent a lot of time in Asia or don't necessarily have a good understanding of the place. In short, it isn't all as simple as you put it.
