This is a piece I enjoy playing at times, when I don't feel like all the high-energy jigs and reels. It's a piece called "Si Beag Si Mor" (though everyone has their own spelling), written by Irish harpist Turlough O'Carolan around 1700. Enjoy listening to it:)

  • @ddanze Sort of. I started with standard EADGBE tuning, then put a capo on the second fret, but so that it didn't catch the low E string. It's a nice trick:)

  • Wonderful! I can only play this song with the harmonica. I'm very new at guitarplaying can you give me some advise how to play irish guitar?

Keep up your great music. greetings

    Matze

  • @defordterry Depends what you mean by Irish guitar. The fingerpicking style I use in this bit is not something I'm very good at - in fact this one of two tunes I play this way:p What I'm (in all modesty) good at is accompaniment, chords and rhythms, that sort of thing. And as far as that goes, I can only say, practice. Find a nice set of tunes somewhere and play along with it. And again. And again. Or try a song. There's lots of nice ones out there:)
