As you can see in the video, the monitor has a problem with horizontal lines scrolling vertically on the screen. This isn't limited to just windows. It happens even when the computer is booting up. There are only two refresh rate options available for the monitor, 59 and 60 hertz. I cannot get the monitor to use a different refresh rate as no others are available. If anyone has an idea as to what might be causing the problem please leave a comment.

  • same problem encountered.

    How do you fix it?

  • @Oratik I ended up opening up the monitor and replacing some domed capacitors. Capacitors should have a flat top instead of a rounded one. Hope that helps.

  • Mine is doing the same thing, in fact I'm viewing your lines through my own XD

My Acer monitor also suddenly goes white when switching programs or user accounts. The only way to bring it back is to turn the monitor off for a few minutes and then on again. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a monitor problem or a software problem?

  • Im pretty sure it is, mine had it near some capacitors*

  • Yes, i fianly found out how to remove the panel, there had only 2 screws and they was behind the stand. And i found out white stuff on the power board. It is normal?

  • Unfortunately i didn't take pictures nor did i make a video of the whole experience. I hope that what i've said will help you get your monitor fixed. If you see any capacitors with the tops rounded, get them replaced as they might be the problem.

  • Just work the screw driver in there, making sure to twist either left or right to top the little clips holding the shells together. Once all the clips have been detached you should be able to pull the back shell off and continue to remove screws that hold on metal covers. Make sure to take picture of how everything was before doing this so that you have something to reference to when you try putting it back together.

  • Are the lines similar to mine? What i did was remove all the screwes from the back of the unit, including the ones for the stand. To get to the screws for the stand you just need to pull on the small cover in the back and it should pop off. Once you remove all screws and the stand, take a small flat head screw driver and insert it between between the two shells of the monitor. It should look like a small gap when you're looking at the monitor from above.

  • Did it worked? Mine just acted weird since 2 days, it see weird color lines. Might be capacitors as well. Now i'm on a borrowed monitor. Until i repair or buy another. So tell me howd you did.

  • Maybe the inverter board is completely fried.
