  • Man a lot of dust etc on parts of the track. Is that normal for Road America? Is it blown on or dragged on?

  • It's normally like that. In the summer especially. It's mostly dragged on though.

  • Yeah, RA doesn't have much in the way of klang dots on the inside of the corners. Other tracks have got these massive tank traps to keep people from "rounding off" the inside too much, but RA has always been pretty mellow on the cars. Except for the difficulty of the course itself, natch. You better have brakes coming down the Sweep into Turn 5. I have seen more than one car dive on to the runoff strip and simply head back toward the paddock area. Heh.

  • Definitely. The only thing that 5 had (at least last year) was a massive ravine in the inside of the apex of 5. So if you wanted to stick your left front inside the curbing, you could damage the front suspension. VERY different from what the CART guys could do in the late 90s and early 2Ks.

  • The sound of the video is awful.

  • tires rele got shot towards the end

  • @kartracerkento8

    $2000 per race?

  • 2000 dollars

  • how much do one of these cost, and how much do they cover if you manage to crash it?

  • gettin outbraked everywhere! lol ya ever run a race in that series down at Road Atlanta?

  • Hmm. Nice to know that; I haven't been up there with a #3 pass since the late '80s, and haven't had a chance to see the track surface very well since the crappy, picture-killing retaining fence.

  • Ouch. Is it still that stiff for the old Atlantics? I would have thought that the Skipper was ready to retire those things anyway.
