  • thanks for the great tutorial ! i learnt something good today!

    why don't you use the up arrow when you make a mistake on the commandline ?

    also if you are using ubuntu (Which uses bash) you should be able to do tab completion instead of using your mouse to copy file names.

  • @test123ok You are correct sir :) most of what I do is just force of habit.

  • What I understood is we can compile the kernel in one system and install it in another system.

    If that's right. I have a doubt.

    How do we install it in another system which does not have linux already installed in it.

  • @srikanthvaindam Having a Debian variant of GNU/Linux installed is a prerequisite to install the Linux Kernel using this method.

  • I keep getting a " (filename) may become unitialized" does this mean I have to rebuild my kernel and if I boot in to the kernel I have to reinstall my OS?
